Hi, I've always used a heavy gauge on my six steel string acoustics, but never on a Classical guitar. I hear that, depending upon the model of the guitar, one should probably be careful about using High tension strings.
I play a cutaway Santos Martinez SM650CEA. I'm just if it's true that high tension strings, can overtime warp the neck of the guitar?
Thanks again,
Stephen

Dear Stephen,
I've used High tension strings on my classical for my whole professional career and have never had problems with neck warping etc...
I would recommend starting with Medium Tension strings and leave them on for a month while playing the guitar every day. Maybe even record yourself so you have a reference and then do the same for High tension strings. Your specific guitar's reaction along with your hands response should indicate the best choice for you personally. Hope this helps!
