Is anyone else learning Granada having a lot of trouble maintaining 3rd finger independence for the melody while keeping the other 2 fingers planted for the accompaniment? I'm really struggling with this.
if anyone knows a good workaround for this or good 3rd finger independence exercises please chime in
Alex
I see this is a common technical challenge. I will brainstorm some ways to get around this and provide some alternative fingerings for the piece. I would hate for this one issue to keep you guys from learning the piece. Stay tuned for a brief video in the future.
Think this one is going to take me a while....First page looked at and my fingers are going ouch!
Btw the first chord, are you fretting and playing 'E' on 5th string 7th position?....as it is not on score, I guess it is optional but Tavi appears to be including this note in his arpeggio on the video tutorial....also what a gem to come back and play the melody note within that chord with the thumb!!!
Hi Alex and Ramon.....I will add this to my must look at list and begin the 'journey' of trying to learn this piece with the tutorial provided. Perhaps we can help motivate each other and share our progress??
I have given up on this piece several times due to the same issue. That 3rd finger just refuses to move as I need it to. I keep trying though. I have been doing spider crawl exercises and it seems to be helping though. Just have to really teach those fingers who’s boss.
