Hi everyone, I hope that this message finds you all in good health. As you have probably gathered from the title of this post, I will be posting my attempt at playing Llobet's beautifully haunting "El testament D'Amelia". To me, this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written and it was my aim to one day be able to play it. So, a hundred odd hours later, here it is. I hope that you all enjoy it. I would like to dedicate this to Tavi for his insightful lesson and support.

I've finally come to the end of learning this song. It took a while longer than expected but I'm ready to start practicing now, and hopefully I'll get somewhere near as good as Mohsin plays it. I think with the harmonics part as well as some of the tricky finger movements this might even belong in the advanced group! It's a beautiful piece and I'm glad I persevered.
Hi Tavi, thank you for your support and encouragement. I find myself working a little bit harder each time, as I reflect on your teaching philosophies. You are a great motivator. I took into consideration what your had mentioned to me in regards to phrasing and the accompaniments within the piece and tried to structure it with subtle variations. I will continue to work at it and in time it will be right. In terms of learning the piece, I think that it took between two to three months. I made sure to incorporate it in my daily practice at least once a day. It is hard to know how much time exactly but I make sure to practice between an hour and two, every day. I have a guitar at home and at work so I can fit in practice whenever I have time.
Thanks Mohsin for posting this recording for us. How long did it take you to learn this piece? I especially thought you did a great job on the harmonic section. I could also hear subtle dynamic and tempo variations on the repeat of the first section; great job! You have a natural ability to hear and convey the shape of a musical phrase. This natural ability is obvious in the way you play this beautiful piece. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the kind words of support sir. Have a nice day.
Another outstanding performance! Beautiful tone and emotion conveyed - Tavi must be proud!
Thanks for sharing.
